Fees

  • The stud fee is determined by the final bid price in the EBT auction.

  • Privilege SFQ is not responsible for the issuance of covering certificates.

  • The covering certificate will be issued when:

    • the mare is in foal,

    • a heartbeat has been detected, and

    • all costs (including shipping costs to Privilege SFQ BVBA) have been paid.

The mare owner will receive an invoice after each service rendered for:

  • Semen collection,

  • Shipping,

  • Health certificate (if required).

Pregnancy Reporting Obligation

  • All pregnancies must be reported to Privilege SFQ between the 5th and 7th month.

  • If this deadline is not met, an additional fee of €2,000 will be charged, which must be paid before the covering certificate is issued.

  • This regulation serves transparency and prevents late notifications that could be intended to bypass foal registration or misrepresent results.

Liability

Privilege SFQ as the stallion owner, as well as its owners, representatives, employees, and veterinarians, assume no liability for:

  • Diseases,

  • Epidemics,

  • Theft or

  • Injuries,

that may affect the mare, the foal, or the semen during the contract period.

Live Foal Guarantee (LFG)

The LFG only applies under the following conditions:

  • The mare must be vaccinated against EHV1,4 in the 5th, 7th, and 9th month of pregnancy.

  • The mare owner must present the stallion owner with a vaccination certificate when applying for a repeat covering.

The guarantee expires if:

  1. no proof of vaccination is provided,

  2. the mare is replaced without written consent,

  3. the mare does not become pregnant, aborts, or dies and the stallion owner is not informed,

  4. the stallion can no longer be used for breeding due to unforeseen reasons.

Based on the LFG, this contract entitles the mare owner to one covering and a covering certificate for one foal.

All payments are non-refundable, subject to the provisions regarding the availability of semen.

Breeding Conditions

  • The stallion keeper may require that a mare which does not become pregnant after three estrous cycles be examined gynecologically (culture/biopsy).

  • The stallion keeper may refuse covering if the mare has a contagious disease or for any other valid reason.

  • The stallion keeper will supply semen from the agreed stallion, but assumes no guarantee for its condition after leaving the farm.

  • The mare owner bears full responsibility for:

    • Handling,

    • Storage, and

    • Insemination.

No liability of the stallion keeper or stallion owner for:

  • lost, delayed or damaged semen.

Covering is only possible with fresh semen.
Frozen semen will not be provided for this covering.
Privilege SFQ accepts no responsibility for the unavailability of the stallion or fresh semen.

Important Notes

  • This contract is valid exclusively between the signing parties.

  • It is not transferable and not for sale without written consent of the stallion keeper.
