Terms and Fees

Stud fee: Hammer price in the Aachen auction for 1 covering. € (plus all applicable costs). The stud fee must be paid in full before the semen is shipped.

Fresh semen collection: 100.00 €

Payment confirmation: No semen will be shipped until all previous invoices have been paid.

The breeding certificate will only be issued once all fees have been paid in full.

Contract term:

The breeding may not be sold or transferred and must be used during the 2027 breeding season. If no semen is ordered or no attempt is made to achieve pregnancy, there is no entitlement to a refund or a repeat breeding.

Important Contract Terms
-
Breeding entitlement: This contract grants the mare owner one breeding by Exxon MA.

If the contractually agreed mare does not become pregnant within three heat cycles, the stallion owner may require a culture or biopsy to assess breeding soundness.

The stallion owner reserves the right to refuse insemination of a mare with infectious or contagious diseases. In this case, the mare owner is obligated to use a substitute mare.

Mare substitution: If the agreed mare becomes ill, is injured, or for other reasons cannot become pregnant, the mare owner may, after prior notification to the stallion owner, use a substitute mare.

Disclaimer of liability: The stallion owner provides fresh semen, but assumes no guarantee for its condition from the time of shipment onward. The mare owner is responsible for the proper handling of the semen and the insemination.

The stallion owner is not liable for lost, delayed, or damaged semen, nor for improper handling or insemination by the mare owner.

If the semen shipment arrives late, the package must be refused upon delivery to avoid additional costs. Otherwise, the mare owner shall bear the costs.

Re-breed terms and live foal guarantee:

The re-breed terms apply if the mare does not deliver a live foal (surviving at least 24 hours after birth).

Written confirmation from a licensed veterinarian is required to claim a repeat breeding.

If the stallion dies or semen is no longer available, the stallion owner will provide a refund of 80% of the stud fee.

Responsibilities of the Mare Owner

The mare owner is responsible for complying with the rules and requirements of the relevant breeding registry.

The mare owner must inform the stallion owner as soon as the pregnancy has been confirmed.

The mare owner must ensure all necessary health measures, vaccinations, and deworming of the mare.
Disclaimer of Liability
The stallion owner, his representatives, and employees are not liable for illness, injury, theft, or death of the bred mare, the resulting foal, or the delivered semen.
Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by German law and is binding upon signature by both parties.
