Breeding Season and Fees

  • Stud Fee: 3,500.00 € (plus VAT or valid VAT identification number)

  • Payment Terms: Payment before the dispatch of the frozen semen.

Important Contract Terms

  1. Scope of Delivery: Per breeding contract, exclusively and maximally two doses of frozen semen are provided.

  2. ICSI Method: If the mare does not become pregnant, a single straw of frozen semen will be provided to achieve pregnancy using the ICSI method (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). This is due to the limited availability of the stallion El Sid's semen.

  3. Use of Semen: The semen may only be used for the mare specified in the contract and is non-transferable. Any transfer or sale to third parties is strictly prohibited and requires the express written consent of the stallion holder.

  4. Contract Fulfillment: If no live foal is born using the ICSI method, the contract automatically ends. Any further acquisition of semen requires a new contract and renewed fees.

Pregnancy Reporting Obligation

  • Reporting Period: Between the 5th and 7th month of pregnancy, the pregnancy must be reported to Gestüt Osterhof. This is most easily done online at: https://ebt-trust.com/en/pages/breeding-certificate.

  • Missed Reporting:

    • Additional Fee: 2,000.00 € (to be paid before the issuance of the breeding certificate).

    • Written Justification: In the case of late reporting, a written explanation is required.

    • Issuance of the covering certificate: Only after written confirmation by Privilege SFQ or Gestüt Osterhof.

Note: This regulation serves transparency and prevents late reports aimed at circumventing the registration of foals.

Additional Fees

  1. Health certificate (outside Germany): 125.00 €

  2. Transport costs: Dependent on carrier, delivery time, and destination country.

  3. Processing fee (including nitrogen container rental): 125.00 €

  4. One portion of frozen semen: 125.00 €

  5. One pallet of deep-frozen sperm: 100.00 €

Notes on the return of the nitrogen container:

  • Return deadline: Within seven days.

  • Late return: 100.00 € per day.

  • Loss of the container: 2,000.00 €.

The shipping costs are borne by the mare owner.

Payment Terms

  • The covering certificate will only be issued once all costs (covering fee and additional fees) have been fully paid.

  • The stallion owner provides the semen of the stallion named in this contract but assumes no liability for the quality of the semen after leaving the stud farm.

  • The mare owner is responsible for:

    • Proper storage and handling of the semen.

    • The execution of the ICSI.

    • The correct completion and return of the semen report.
