Breeding Season and Fees

  • Stud Fee: ___________ € (plus VAT or valid VAT identification number)

  • Payment Terms: Payment before the shipment of frozen semen.

Important Contract Terms

  1. Scope of Delivery: Per breeding contract, exclusively and at most two doses of frozen semen will be delivered.

  2. ICSI Method: Should the mare not become pregnant, a single pellet of frozen semen will be provided to achieve pregnancy using the ICSI method (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). This is due to the limited availability of semen from the stallion El Sid.

  3. Use of Semen: The semen may be used exclusively for the mare named in the contract and is non-transferable. Any transfer or sale to third parties is strictly prohibited and requires the express written consent of the stallion owner.

  4. Fulfillment of Contract: If no live foal is born through the ICSI method, the contract ends automatically. Any further purchase of semen requires a new contract and renewed fees.

Pregnancy Reporting Obligation

  • Reporting Period: Between the 5th and 7th month of pregnancy, the pregnancy must be reported to Gestüt Osterhof. The easiest way to do this is online at: https://ebt-trust.com/en/pages/breeding-certificate.

  • Missed Reporting:

    • Additional fee: €2,000.00 (to be paid before the issuance of the breeding certificate).

    • Written Explanation: In the case of late reporting, a written explanation is required.

    • Issuance of the covering certificate: Only after written confirmation by Privilege SFQ or Gestüt Osterhof.

Note: This regulation serves transparency and prevents late notifications aimed at circumventing foal registration.

Additional Fees

  1. Health certificate (outside Germany): €125.00

  2. Transport costs: Depending on carrier, delivery time, and destination country.

  3. Processing fee (incl. nitrogen container rental): €125.00

  4. One portion of frozen semen: €125.00

  5. One straw of deep-frozen semen: €100.00

Notes on returning the nitrogen container:

  • Return period: Within seven days.

  • Late return: €100.00 per day.

  • Loss of the container: €2,000.00.

The shipping costs are borne by the mare owner.

Payment Terms

  • The covering certificate will only be issued once all costs (covering fee and additional charges) have been fully paid.

  • The stallion owner provides the semen of the stallion named in this contract, but assumes no liability for the quality of the semen after it leaves the stud farm.

  • The mare owner is responsible for:

    • Proper storage and handling of the semen.

    • The execution of the ICSI.

    • The correct completion and return of the semen report.
